Hi all,

I want to briefly clarify the situation around the SDR list and some recent messages.

First of all: NovaSDR remains an open project, and I am absolutely open to collaboration, ideas, and contributions. That has not changed.

The only decision I've made is to keep the official NovaSDR list and its infrastructure under my own control. This is to ensure consistency and a clear direction for the project.

There was some recent downtime, but this was caused by an issue with the domain provider, not the server itself. The backend has been running reliably (see attached uptime screenshot, currently 579 days) and has already been significantly improved with a rewritten Rust-based implementation.

This decision is not about excluding anyone, but about maintaining a stable and consistent foundation for the project.

Regarding development:
NovaSDR is still actively being worked on. My availability comes in waves due to other responsibilities, so progress may sometimes be faster and sometimes slower. But development is definitely ongoing.

Of course, anyone is free to:
  • contribute ideas or improvements
  • collaborate on features
  • run their own list instances

I appreciate everyone who has supported the project so far.

Thank you dear admin, magicint1337, for your clarification. The fact is that I was waiting an answer about the dysfunction of sdr map list, which is given only today after many days. This was I think the reason that BAS has decided to temporary host a second map list server, so to help all of us who haven't saved the links of the servers to a safe bookmark place.
Anyway, from my side I've modified (again) the links to the official map in .svelte files (PhantomSDR).

Thank you also for your will to collaboration, ideas, and contributions. The entirely open source PhantomSDR may give you some ideas about some newer things, if you think that they could be adapted for NovaSDR and if you - of course - find them useful for the End User.

Hi SV1BTL,

thanks for your message and for stepping in during the downtime that's appreciated.

You're absolutely right that the delay in communication didn't help, and I'll try to improve on that going forward.

Also thanks for updating the links and for pointing to PhantomSDR. I've taken a look at your work before and I agree there are definitely some interesting ideas there that could be valuable for NovaSDR.

I'd be happy to explore ways to bring good concepts together and improve things further for everyone.

New SDR Forum

Hi all,

as this forum may be going offline soon, a new forum has been set up to continue discussions and development:

https://forum.sdr-list.xyz/

It brings together both NovaSDR and PhantomSDR in one place, with a more modern structure and stable hosting.

Feel free to join and continue discussions there.

The domains have been paid for until:

You cannot view this attachment.

If somebody wants to take over, I will be happy to let the transfer and software/database happen.

But I'm stopping to support these projects. Too many problems.

If not transferred, they will stop at those dates.
Best regards,

Bas - ON5HB - Nova forum nutter and code tester.

That is the problem, your hosting isn't stable.

And as you do not accept code and bug-reports from others to improve the project, I'm out.

Goodluck with your project.

Best regards,

Bas,

I'll clarify this once so there's no confusion for others reading:

The hosting itself has been stable. The recent downtime was caused by a domain provider issue, not the server or infrastructure.

Contributions are accepted. Pull requests and bug reports are reviewed, and changes are merged when they provide value. That has always been the case.

Applying pressure or making ultimatums will not change these facts or my decisions.

I'm not going to continue this discussion further.

I respect your decision to step away and wish you all the best.

Bas ON5HB

I do not set ultimatums, I do not declare anything other then I'm done with YOUR project.

For me your project has ended, as such I stop paying for the domains or host them.

You let the list in a bad stage for weeks, and isn't the only time.
As well as the bad SSB modulation, where it's off Hz but shouldn't.

I reported this over many months, you ignore it.
Same as you ignore a lot of problems.

I'm done. Goodbye.

Best regards,

Bas - ON5HB - Nova forum nutter and code tester.
